Tutorial: How to Use Shapiful
Shapiful is a lightweight alternative to Fusion 360, SolidWorks, TinkerCAD, Blender, and FreeCAD. Unlike complex CAD tools, Shapiful focuses on speed, simplicity, and customization for labels and small objects.
With Shapiful, you can go from idea to personalized, professional, 3D-printable models in minutes-without needing traditional CAD tools.
Getting Started
- Open the Shapiful website.
- Sign in using your account or with Google authentication.
- Once logged in, you will see the main dashboard with options to create a new 3D model or import an existing one.
Pick a Label
Your label can be in different formats:
- Text : Write a (optionally multiline) text in the text field.
- Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG), handles only closed polygons
Pick a Shape
Here you can decide:
- Use one of the shape from the gallery
- Importing your STL
- Select Upload STL model to upload your 3D model.
- Shapiful will automatically detect flat surfaces suitable for text or code placement.
- You can choose surfaces and adjust placement parameters.
Adjustment
- Open the Text Properties Panel.
- For Braille and QR codes select the right text module
- Select from cube, cuboid, oval, or parametric supports.
- Adjust your formatting options:
- Font style and size
- Letter/line spacing
- Rotation and positioning
Preview
- Use the live 3D preview to see changes instantly.
- Pan, zoom, and rotate the model in the preview window.
- Adjust coordinates, scaling, and alignment for precise placement.
- Edit parameters dynamically until satisfied.
Export and Print Your 3D Model
- Once your design is complete, click Export.
- Choose from multiple formats such as STL, 3MF, WRL, AMF, and more.
- Files are optimized for popular 3D printers like Creality Ender 3, Prusa MK3/MK4, Bambu Lab X1-Carbon, Elegoo Neptune, and more.
- Works with technologies such as FDM, SLA, SLS, MJF, DMLS, and others.
- Supports materials including PLA, ABS, PETG, TPU, Nylon, Resin, Steel, Aluminum, Titanium, and more.
- Slice and Print your model.
